Creating a Summer Bucket List by Anna
“As adults without a true ‘summer break,’ it’s on us to create moments that help us enjoy the season while it’s here and make the most of it! Think back to childhood summers—long, carefree days full of adventure, new experiences, and simple joys. Making a summer bucket list is a wonderful way to bring some of that nostalgia back, boost your mental wellness, and soak up all Nashville has to offer!
Step 1: Find a quiet spot.
Grab paper and pen or make a digital bucket list and print it out to check off over the summer!
Step 2: Reflect - What do you love?
Think about the things that bring you joy here in Nashville. Is it the lively music scene? The beautiful parks? The food culture? Write down anything that sparks excitement or comfort.
Step 3: Get Inspired.
What new restaurant have you been curious to try? Who’s playing at the outdoor venues this summer? Look up local event calendars and mark what catches your eye. Connect with your childhood favorites too—did you grow up near water and love swimming or boating? Maybe a paddleboard outing on the Cumberland River could rekindle that feeling. Use this step to blend the new and nostalgic.
Step 4: Create your list (with dates of any specific events!)
Now, start crafting your bucket list. Write down 5 to 10 activities or events you want to experience this summer. If there are specific dates for concerts, festivals, or events, add them so you can plan ahead.
Step 5: Plan your first activity this week! What will you do?
Pick one thing from your list to do this week. Whether it’s a walk in the park, trying that new taco spot, or catching a live show, commit to it fully and savor the moment.
Have fun!”
